Our Difference

We have a heart for making a difference for our clients, our community, our country, and our world.

For The Community

SnowCap

http://www.snowcap.org

With help from the Oregon Food Bank, 1,000 volunteers, and less than 10 paid staff, SnowCap serves about 9,000 people every month in east Multnomah County, making them one of the largest food banks in Oregon. Our office has committed to serving them with:

Bringing our tax season team and significant others to volunteer at SnowCap in January every year prior to the start of tax season.

Asking our clients to help us fill a SnowCap barrel with food, diapers, and feminine hygiene products every tax season. Our amazing clients bring in over 400 pounds of donations every year!

Bringing team, spouses, and friends to volunteer every September for CPA Saturday of Service. Want to know how you can help? Visit SnowCap

Gateway Area Business Association (GABA)

https://gatewaybusiness.org

Lisa serves as treasurer of this organization, which serves our community by helping to promote local businesses and park assets with activities such as:
Cruising Gateway in September and Celebrating Gateway in December, both held at our new Gateway Discovery Park at 106th and Halsey.

Scouts

With 11 years of prior service with the United State Marine Corps Reserves, Lisa enjoys being involved her son’s Boy Scout Troop.

B1G1-Business for Good

In 2015, the United Nations identified 17 Sustainable Development Goals such as: “Zero Hunger,” “Quality Education,” and “Gender Equality” for all by 2030. We have committed to helping these goals by joining with the B1G1-Business for Good community and making gifts for many life events of our clients.

Environment

We have been “paperless” for our individual returns since 2003, and our entity returns since 2010. That means we scan, rather than copy, your original documents. And we print PDF copies, rather than paper copies of your tax returns for our files. We also have an extensive recycling program for our own office and personal consumables. And all our obsolete computer equipment is recycled as much as possible.

FOR OUR CLIENTS

Treats

Bring in all your tax information by March 1 and we will make a donation on your behalf!

Menu

Yep, we’ve got coffee – from our favorite local RedEye Coffee Roasters in Vancouver, WA https://redeyecoffeeroasters.com (UPS drivers by day; coffee roasters by night.) But we’ve also got a full menu of other beverages and treats. We want your tax experience to be as pleasant as possible.

Portal

We provide the SmartVault Portal so you can access your prior tax returns and documents 24/7. It is also one of the most secure methods of sending sensitive documents.

Security

All of our data is stored on a remote server with some of the highest security available, and continuously monitored for suspicious activity. A second copy is backed up to a secure location in another state in case disaster strikes in our area.

Education

CPAs are held to a higher standard than a general “tax preparer.” Our CPAs attend at least 80 hours of continuing education every two years on a range of valuable topics to ensure we are up to date, not only on recent tax law, but also financial statement presentation, cybersecurity, and new technology options. As members of the Oregon Society of CPAs, the majority of our continuing education comes from this highly reputable, local resource.
